Default 7100 resolution vs 7290 resolution

I know that the 7100 has higher resolution where things look sharper and more clear but the 7290 has a larger screen so i was wondering at the same font type and size, which unit would display more words on the screen?

What in gods name are you guys talking about? Using the same font size the 7100 will display A LOT more text, of course the DPI will be much higher so the effective size of the font will be smaller. However, that being said if you set up a 7290 and a 7100 with the same font size the 7100 will display far more text. If you like highresolution displays you will love the 7100. If you have poor eyesight you will prefer the 7290. The 7100 is horrible in direct sunlight. It moderate light or indoors the 7100 screen is absolutally gorgeous. Compared to the 7290 ot 7250 the 7100 wins hands down indoors. The 72xx series looks washed out indoors. Outdoors the 72xx series really shines, it works great in direct sunlight whereas the 7100 sucks in direct sunlight. My bro has a 7250 and I have a 7100. They are really totally different beasts. I prefer the 7100, I love the high res crystal clear high colour screen. But I also have always like super highres monitors, I always drive my monitors to their maximal res I like high dpi displays so that I get the largest desktop possible.

hmmmmmm given the resolution ratings, that's what i thought too, that the 7100 will display more information at the same font size/type compared to the 7290. And not just more information, but text that is significantly sharper than the 7290 counterpart.

with BBMillbankTall at 7 font size i can get 39 letters across the screen with about 18 1/2 lines of text on the screen...

can anyone with a 7290 give it a try and see how many characters to a line and how many lines to the screen at the same font type/size?

thanks

I run my 7100 with BBMillibank Tall at 7pt as well. The amount of information displayed on the screen is vastly superior in the vertical direction, seeing as how the vertical resolution is way higher on the 7100t. The 7100t has an almost portrait like display ratio, where as the 72xx series has a landscape like display ratio. However, you can drive the 72xx with a 6pt BBMillibank font that is NOT available on my 7100.

ohhhh really? 6 size font would be great, but how clear do you think 6 pt font is on the 7290?

The screen is not nearly as sharp as the 7100. However, if I owned a 72xx series BB I would run it with a 6pt font I find it acceptable. I brother does not like the 6 point font the dpi is too high for him, so he drives his 7250 with the 8pt font. YMMV. The main reason I choose the 7100 over the 72xx series was the screen resolution. I can type super fast with the suretype keyboard as well. To each their own.
