A quike one.....can a device with "Property of Research in Motion - evaluation unit" be upgraded? .....(not mine...honest...)

The answer is a definite maybe.

83xx devices definitely could.

Some 9000s that were evaluation units - very early - could NOT be upgraded. So, who knows about the 82xx line.
