Default Can Pearl do this when adding a new contact to Address Book?

Please Login to Remove!

Guess the answer to this is no cause I searched hard for this one... but thought I'd ask just in case...

Is there any way to set it so that it defaults to "mobile" instead of work when adding a contact's # to the address book? I mean if they called me or sent sms and then I choose add to address book. ?

Every one who calls me calls from their mobile... so it is a bit of a pain.

Also, anyone know of a way to set a default "Category"? So that every new contact is automatically in that Category as opposed to no category. Because I have address book filtered, I can't see new contacts that I add (since they have no Category and I forget to set it when adding the new contact)

Sorry, the address book does default to "work" when using 'add to address book'. The easisest way to fix that would be to sync to Outlook and move them all there.

Another way would be to sync to an Excel and then simply rename the fields there.

I don't know about the Categories, but I do doubt that.

Syncing to excel is slightly more difficult, but possible.

i've found that if you add someone to the address book from a text message it goes to "mobile" by default if that helps at all.

I have question along a similar theme....

Is there anyway to set a preferred number when selecting "call" from the address book? Today, it defaults to Work.

I can see that when you selected SMS, it now defaults to your Mobile number (if you have one defined). Similarly, I would like to set a perferred number so it defaults to that number when I choose to call them.

Doesn't it default to the one you used last time you called that person? I thought I had noticed it doing this...

Not on my 8130. At least not when I choose call from a contact selecting from the address book.
