Default 9780 East Asian Language installation

I've looked up some of the threads and they haven't really answered the questions I'm thinking of.

First of all, Just today I bought a Blackberry Bold 9780 from Rogers Wireless.
When I was checking out the phone, I noticed there was no input in any East Asian languages (just European ones).
Also, one of my co-workers had just gotten the 9800 and he had the support on his phone, he's also with the same provider I believe.
On a separate occasion today, I've spoken to a friend, she has the same model I do, and her phone already had the support.

Now, I've seen the method on installing the non multi-language firmware. However, I'm unsure of the results.
Even if I do a back up through BB desktop manager, then install the firmware by deleting the .xml file, and once I restore the back up, will anything on my BB change besides the ability to switch into additional languages?

My other question: Is it possible to install the support without doing the firmware re-installation? (I'm on the newest OS 6 by the way)

Check the OS release on each of the devices, are they they same?

If you're ONLY installing the East Asian language cod files, nothing else on the device will be changed. You really don't need to install the entire firmware again, UNLESS you find a firmware of a different release than than already on your 9780.

How would I go about installing only these cod files?

Also, would they be included in the installation folder of the firmware?

EDIT: So I've kinda figured out how to do that.
Except I'm not 100% sure if It'l work, but I'll give it a try.
(Never really imagined the idea of installing font support as a third party application)

What I did was import the CJK.alf file form the folder after installing the .exe of the asian version.
