Smile Cant seem to get WAP working on BB 8110 PEARL

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all, Really hoping someone can possibly help with a problem i have. Here's the story. I recently bought an unlocked Blackberry 8110 pearl off Ebay. Being on 3 network, i tried my sim card which obviously wouldn't work so i put in a O2 sim card and asked for settings to be sent to the phone so i could use WAP. Unfortunetly the settings weren't sent due to O2 having a problem with doing so. I've tried to also manually set up the settings but with no joy. I've been reading a few forums and one person had mentioned that some BB's could have BES installed so i used JL_Cmder to "reset to factory" but still im having no joy. Could anyone help me? I am by no means a phone wizard so ...baby steps would be appreciated heeh
Many thanks in advance.

What are your tcp settings? They can be accessed: Options>Advanced>TCP

Ack!...ok, i have since found out through searching the net that Blackberry doesn't support PAYG...which my sim card is. Would this be correct?

BlackBerrys support PayG, I don't think 3 has the BIS infrestructure for BlackBerrys, and the 8110 is only a 2.5G phone meaning that it is not compatable with a 3 SIM as 3 are a 3G only Network.

Orange PAYG support BIS for £5 a month, you need to call 450 from your handset.

I'm not sure about T-Mobile, 3 or O2.
