Default wifi on a 8100?

Please Login to Remove!

i've got an aging 8100 that i really like. unfortunately my provider doesn't offer the small size BB as an upgrade so i'm sort of stuck with it.

my data plan is cheap at 6 euros/month for email (browsing is a lot extra but i'm not interested because of the speed and tiny screeen) but when i move out of my country they hit me with xxx8364;5 a day in western europe and xxx8364;10 a day in other countries. a month here, a month there, and ouch!

a solution is to turn off data when roaming but it kind of defeats the point.

i'm thinking; if i had wifi i could pick up free hotspots from time to time to check mail. i know i could do this on a storm etc. but the damn things are big and heavy.

is there a way of installing wifi on my 8100 or is it a hardware thing? (i know it's available on later models like the 8110.)

You can't add WiFi to an 8100.
(Or any BlackBerry without WiFi.)

Also, the 8110 doesn't have WiFi. The 8120 does.

Wirelessly posted (White and Nerdy)

Agreed. The 8100 series and 8300 series only have one model with wifi. The new models almost all have wifi

That's not correct. The 8320 and 8350 both have WiFi.

Skype Mobile is only available for Verizon Wireless subscribers at the moment.
