Default Google search

Hi all, my BB9900 has had for a long time the google search facility with the G icon on the home screen. I connected the phone the other day to my laptop to use it as a modem (which i haven't done for a while) and the desktop manager downloaded 'software update' to the device, the G icon has gone now and when i try to install again via the google link the blackberry page tells me this device does not support this. I have just installed the latest OS from this site and still it won't allow it, does anyone have an idea?

Sometimes a software update does not include/allow olders apps. You can wait until the OS/device is supported or revert back to the OS level where it was supported. Not a good solution but not an uncommon problem.

I had the same problem. I did some reading on the subject, and it appears that Google is not supporting this search on Blackberry phones. They are producing Google Pop Up instead. It has something to do with Android but I can't locate the article. Last I heard, you could still find it on an obscure Google site. If I can find the link, and if it still works, I will post it for you here.
