Here's a set of green dialog buttons that at 32x34 pixels for your theme if you'd like them. They are in PNG24 format to preserve transparency on the edges.

I can use these for my matrix theme too. Can you make an icon to focus around whatever icon is highlighted. I think the default color is blue. I need Green.

It would be much appreciated. I know these things take time and effort. Thanks

OK guys I got my Blackberry themes page back up on my new host. It's the only thing I have up so far, but I know some of you were really missing it so I made it a priority! All the old links in this thread should still work because I have them redirecting to the new page, http://rogersmj.com/tech/blackberry.

Due to the hosting mess, I have a ton of work to do and it may be some time before Highway is out for 7100 and 8700. I apologize, but they'll be out eventually.

mrogers,

thanks much for the themes they work great on my 7520. since you seem to know much about the themes, i just wanted to ask you a question. when i create themes and add a background it looks great on the computer but when i install it , i see a white border around the entire background. is there way to remove that? thanks in advance.

If you're talking about the one or two-pixel white edge on the screen, that's just part of the device and it's not something you can affect.

If you're just talking about your wallpaper, you just need to make sure it's the right size for your screen....240x160.

Thanks,
Did you right-click the image and select "save as" and make sure it stays a png file? It won't work as jpeg because the transparency will not be there.

This is the focus icon that goes on the homescreen page in the Plazmic software. I'll try it here and see what happens after saving it from the forum screen.

[edit] just "saved as" from forum and inserted into theme no problem.

Its for a 7100- series, right? I converted one from the 7100 Examples folder without any size mods so that should not be the issue.

Can you explain more about how it doesn't work?

Thanks

No this time it worked. I think I was having trouble transfering it to my laptop that has the Plazmic software on it. Now all I have to do is search to find a solution to exporting errors due to the main background being larger than 60kb. Thanks again! This theme is almost complete.

Need to use PNG8 for background and limit colors to 128 if needed to keep size <60KB. Otherwise, JPEG blows up when it converts. Don't use JPEG unless less than 35KB.

Alternate, use GIF and keep it less than 60KB by limiting color depth (like 128 colors).

Ok now I have that. I try to export. I get 2 error messages that read as follows.

Warning. Dialog Buttons might not display correctly on the device. Please adjust font size or border definition so that both buttons have similar height.

Warning. Dialog Buttons might not display correctly on the device. Please match the border definition of highlighted botton with that of normal button.

Did you tweak the button sizes for the dialog menus? Those are the ones with the funky tile capability. They should be the same in overall size and the tile pattern should match (use the numbers for the positions of the grid).

No I copied them right from the forum. They are listed as 32 x 34 and are PNG formated.

I think its referring to the other buttons that you select with the wheel and click- not the icon-symbol ones. They have the example words on the "DELETE" and "CANCEL" in the Theme Builder application. They have a tricky way of defining the border and tile pattern. Much more detail in the user manual but they need to be defined the same way- like a pair, but can be different colors.

Try looking at those.

The other ones, the green symbols, can be almost any size because I've moved them from 8700 to 7100, for example, and they work OK. As a last resort, I could mod them to be square 32 pixels but I don't think that's what its throwing the error for. Let me know--
