Videos will work if you exit full screen mode (bug). SprintTV works
fine.

I've had the same problem. Full screen doesn't make a difference for me. It will play in full screen but takes over the screen!! Even on exiting the top two thirds will show the video, the menu wont show full when it's playing. The playing also seems flawed. I got an "uncaught Exception: Event thread is not running."

Possibly a mass storage mode issue. Check your settings in the BB Settings screen.

When I upgraded to 101, all of my all-day recurring events (like birthdays) got changed to start at 4:00 AM (or 5:00 AM for those that were created as a result of being in the birthday or anniversary fields in Address book) and ending 1 day later at 4:00 (or 5:00). This means that all these events appear on the correct day, plus the day after. Being all day events, there is no way (on the BB) to change this. I had to go into Outlook and do it there. I had to change back to 12:00 AM start/end.

I'm not surprised, though, since recurring events appearing on two days has long plagued me as a PocketDay user. However, this is the first time that the build-in calendar shows the items incorrectly.

Other than that (haven't tried videos), I'm finding 101 to be substantially faster than prior betas. Third party apps (Free Range, for example) that used to lag are now speedy fast.

So it seems that higher version does not necessarily mean better version.

This may be a really stupid question but I've intalled 4.5.0.77 and I've gotten my ringtones back (really loud now!!) But in order to see my email I have to hit a link and it loads it in the browser. Is this right?? Or do I need to set something up differently.

I guess I thought that they would just open on the screen like they do on my computer??

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Welcome aboard. I just responded to your e-mail you sent me.

If you are using hotmail/msn, this link may also impact the issue.

Thank you for all your help. It was much appreciated. Email is working great after resending my service books.

I downloaded Opera Mini and you are right...much better. It will take some getting used to, but I don't think it will take long.

I am glad you are doing well with it. There are several threads on this site about Opera Mini

I am having the worst time trying to get my ringtones back after uploading 4.5.0.77 for 8830. I've been messing around with it for the last day and a half. Here are the steps I've gone through (besides the multiple wipes and reinstalls), maybe someone can see my mistake:

*copyied the qualcomm.cod file into the JL_Cmder folder and renamed to 8830.cod

*Ran JavaLoader, every time I would hit the '6' key for command line usage, a notepad document would come up. Is there a way to type commands into the JL because I'm not quite understanding it. Tried to save 'load<net_rim_bb_medialoader.cod>' into the notepad document and rerunning the JL, but it still didn't work (apparently notepad isn't a programming environment, duh). I'm missing something easy here (at least I think I am).

*Reverted to DM technique.

*Put the 8830.cod (renamed) file into the C:\Program Files\CommonFiles\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8830-v4.5.0.77_P3.2.0.51\Java folder.

*modified the Blackberry.alx file in the 8830-v4.5.0.77_P3.2.0.51 with the following command: <fileset Sound="Tunes7130c" Java="1.0"><files>net_rim_bb_medialoader_8830.cod</files></fileset> (I've also tried leaving out this step)

*Ran DM Apploader and tried both updating software and the add/remove software option. Response was no "available updates for device."

*Ran the Apploader manually through the file, same response.
*I've tried pulling the battery as well, so that is not the issue. The vedor file is also deleted.

Could this be because I am running DM 4.7? Do I need to downgrade my version? The last idea I have is waiting until next week for my SD card to arrive and loading the ringtones onto that, although it'd be nice to have them before that. I was thinking of uploading the .101 version, but the video errors seem a bit worse than the .77 version, and there's no way I can go back to the 4.2 browser

Thank you to anyone who made it through this post. Its extremely long, I'm just out of ideas.

I am staying with .77 for now. .101 thread spooked me into sticking with the status quo.

I am in desperate need of help on verizon 8830. I upgraded the software to v4.5.0.77 and lost my sounds. I loaded the file media loader cod file and I was able to get my alerts back for sms, calendar, messenger phone, tasks etc. all except for my email! I can't select it to make any changes. Is there any solution to this? I tried the ever handy battery pull but that does nothing for me. anyone that can help me with this problem would be great. I am at a lost on what to do next.
