Question BES Vulnerability in PDF Distiller of Attachment Service - KB24547

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, Has anyone had a look at this and applied the fix? I'm running 4.1.7 for Exchange myself.

Wondering if its a very straightforward installation, and if there are any pitfalls we need to look out for?

The RIM site describe the available patches as "interim security software updates". Which seems to imply that they temporary and a more permanent fix is on the way.

Sorry, cant post the link as I've ony 8 posts to my name.

The interim fix is unregistering 3 dlls and then registering the 3 new ones. It's a quick fix.
I implemented yesterday in my 5.0.2 environment on the Primary and Standby servers. No problems at all.

Took all of 3 minutes per server.

Thanks guys. Looks very similar to a patch that came out last year, also affecting 3 DLL files.

No reboots required? Issues with services, other manual tweaks?

just applied it myself. Seemed very straightforward. All working afterward. Always nervous tweaking anything on the BES tho...
