I am not going to go in to it here because it is kind of out of the scope of BlackBerry forums but you can use both routers as to not have to make a change that effect others.

Moved to Wifi Hotzone.

Now it's totally in the scope of Blackberryforums. Multiple router setups is just not my cup of tea.

Okay I have an IP with my router, and the internet is working on all of the computers in the house, but it's still not working on my blackberry. The status says "network acquired" but there's still a little yellow minus sign next to the profile name. Why would this be happening if I have an IP?

after spending the entire day on the phone with tmobile, even though they are not my service provider, its been established that it is not going to work.
i cant believe i wasted 500 dollars on this phone and now its just any old phone.

That makes no sense. Why did they say it wouldn't work? I can take the sim card out of mine completely and still use it to surf the net over wifi.

What OS is on the device?

I use an Apple Router and I haven't had any WiFi connectivity issues with the BlackBerry 8320. Guess I am lucky!

I was able to get the wifi to be green and the wifi logo to light up but ever since I upgraded my os it stays at yellow no matter what I do. It seems to be connected to my home network but it won't turn green. Amy suggestions?

Mine is always yellow with a dash ever since i got it. I think it'll only turn green if it's connected via UMA or something. There's no problem with my wifi right now and i'm using this phone on Rogers Wireless.

i have an 8320 with rogers and am also in toronto. u dont need a data plan for wifi to work. u wont get a green check mark unless u have a blackberry plan. but that doesnt mean wifi wont work. mine is always yellow cuz i dont have a blackberry plan but my wifi always works. my brothers 8320 has green check mark cuz he has blackberry $15 unlt email plan.
i had issues too with my router at first, but then i reset my router and all worked. take a look and see in ur router settings if u have mac filtering on also. i can almost guarantee u its ur router and its settings rather than the device. and this also has nothing to do with service provider like t-mobile or rogers cuz u can use the wifi without even have a sim car in the phone. i have heard people say the WRT54GX4 is not compatible with 8320.

you did not waste $500 dollars.
its just a matter of ur router setup or the router itself. the setup takes 5mins at most. its just a simple setup, nothing special.

have u tried resetting router, enabling wireless and not entering any settings at all? cuz it should work for sure then. if it does work, then its ur settings.

check ur router model, there are some that are not compatible with blackberry... even linksys ones. ur best bet is the remarkably affordable but reliable linksys models like wrt54g or wrt54gs. maybe go to best buy and buy a wrt54gs and try it out with no settings at all and see if it works and then return it when u have figured it out.

if u have any more questions please feel free to pm me. i have a linksys wrt54gs router working with 2 8320's and all the pcs and laptops in my house. i know a fair bit about networking.

thats right you will never get a check mark for wifi if you do not have a data plan, the check mark is when wifi is connected to rim servers and bold wifi simbol.

However as mentioned above you do not need to worry about this, connect and fire up your wifi browser and should work. to make sure its nto your device (which i highly doubt) go to a wifi hot spot and try it there.
