You should really sticky this!!! If this works with AIM, MSN, YAHOO, who needs VeriChat, IM+, and all the other IM clients?

Got it working, my only gripe is no groups and adding buddies is a PITA.
But I agree, who needs Verichat, IM+, Ramble, etc. if you have this!

Keep in mind: you can use any open Jabber program to do this, not only Miranda IM.
Here's a list of clients:

I would recommend sticking with what works. Ixxx8217;m sure other Jabber programs work, at first I tried Psi but I was having a world of trouble. After using Miranda though, it was a piece of cake.

Elaborate? Why/how has this caused a problem, or what's happening exactly from your PC?
I'm sans BB right now (just reading up on the forums to get ready for the 8700 on TMo), but seeing as how I'm a Mac user, do these instructions work entirely OTA? Pardon the idiot question if it is .
Thanks!

For this to work with AIM you need to keep your computer on that Miranda is installed?
Also, what does this step do:

It looks like I found a solution for us Mac users. Check out:
http://www.bigblueball.com/forums/go...msn-yahoo.html
and follow those instructions. Seems to be working for me. I need to test it a bit further though.
Looks like Windows users can also use this method.

I can't seem to remove Google Talk from my Blackberry either! What was that about removing modules? I don't know how to do that. I just went to applications and deleted it, tried a regular reset, tried pulling the battery, but it keeps coming back!

I have a 7130 on VZW. Got GT downloaded and installed, but when I try to sign in, it tells me I am missing service books. Pulled the battery and restarted, but still nothing.
Any thoughts?
Edited to add: And for some reason, I can't seem to get the service books to push from my BIS account

Try Options->Advanced->Host Routing Table->Register now. You should get the BBFS1 service book.
If you don't get it.. may be wait a bit.. sometimes the system's slow..

AFAIK, my msn contracts are fine with msn.jabber.anywise.com. I can only get my ICQ (I suppose AIM's the same) contacts to work with ursine.ca. Remember these "connectors" are all free services provided by someone other than Google/RIM/AOL/Microsoft and are likely unauthorized and runs on non-scalable software and limited hardware. So don't expect too much.. they can disappear anytime or get locked out by AOL/Microsoft any time..
The best bet is get your buddies on GoogleTalk directly..

I installed Google talk with no problem. The only down fall I have with it is when I am away from my desk and I am logged into Googletalk from my BB, the messages only go to my desktop and not my BB. But if I send a message from my BB to someone, I can only recieve it on my BB and not my desktop. Do we know if there is a fix for this?
