Default cant use 8100 as bluetooth modem after new os update

Please Login to Remove!

I am having difficulties initiating and maintaining connection between my macbook and 8100 now that i have installed the new os from tmobile.
the wirelss tethering worked very well before the update. Is anyone else having these difficulties? or can offer some suggestions?

most often when i try to connect it just goes straight from connect to disconnecting. when i am able to connect (very infrequent) it stalls out very quickly.
i have checked all of my previous settings, and nothing seems different.

thanks
adam

Unfortunately this is the current state of affairs with the newest versions of the 4.2 OS. They've broken something in the bluetooth stack that results in a battery pull being required to re-enable tethering. Some people have reported that the problem is lessened by checking all the boxes in the Sharing panel of Bluetooth Preferences, but my personal experience didn't back that up.

Default thanks

that realy is not a good thing to hear, but I thank you for the information.

do you know if there is anything in the works to remedy the problem, or is it a sly way of tmobile limiting data usage?

I don't believe there's anything deliberate in the breakage, and I hope someone at RIM is working on a fix. Unfortunately, there's no way to be sure.

I have the same issue with my 8700g runnig 4.2.1.108. I am able to connect for about 10 ICMP packets, and after that no more traffic flows. Disconnecting is really buggy, and takes ~3-5minutes. My mac & berry won't connect again until the berry is rebooted.
