I have had my 8830 curve for Verizon wireless for about 6 weeks now. I love this phone it is awesome, but im not thrilled with the battery. I use it moderately about 20 emails sent/received per day, and I am on and off the internet about 10 times a day accumulating maybe 30-40 minutes online. I also text around 50 sent/received per day. I take it off the charger fully charged at 8am and it is in the red with about 10% by 8pm. A friend told me I should turn off the 3g feature because it drains the battery and it is not even usable, is this true? I'm looking for any advice on more battery life.

There is no 3G feature... not sure what you mean.

The battery is inferior compared to the 8800 series, for sure. I had to go out and buy an extended battery for it. I went all the way up to the Seidio 2600 battery, but that is so big that it comes with its own battery door...

There are other options out there that will buy you some more time.
