Does anyone know when Cingular is going to allow the BB Messanger to work on their service?

Well, I have the 7290 and when someone sends me a message I get encrytion key failed

I have Cingular as well. I have the 8700c though. So it may not work on the 7290.

Does this happen with all users? Did you get your BB new? Check the RIM technical forums. There is an item on this I think.

My cousin cannot get it on her Cingular 7290. Perhaps that is the problem.

Doesn't Messenger require 4.x handheld software? Do you have that?

I have a couple of users who had the 7290's with 4.x and Messenger worked fine for them.

I do have 4.0. The thing is that I can send a request to add someone to the messanger, but when they respond, I get the error. The other person, who as Verizon, sent me the acceptance but I kept getting the error.

ok if you read the warning box when you download BB messenger, it says that it won't work on Cingular handhelds. It doesnt matter how hard you will try, it will NOT work.

Really..... Cause it seems to work on my Cingular 8700c just fine.

First off, when I went there and downloaded it, the warning was "not supported by Cingular", not "Won't Work". And it really does work. Just great.

Not supported means that Cingular has not tested it nor updated the CS script book to cover it. Data services CRs won't help with problems with it.

It work(ed) on my old 7290 on Cingular.
It works on my girl's 7290 on Cingular.
It works on my 8700 on Cingular

All have the handheld 4.x so you may want to check that your handheld software is 4.x and not just the Desktop Manager program.
