Default ACT! dupicating calendar entries...

Please Login to Remove!

hi everyone, noobie here.

i've spent a long while searching the forums here for an answer to this, and i apologize if i missed it:

i'm using companionlink to sync between ACT! 2006 and my pearl 8100. it seems to be working pretty well, except for the fact that every sync RE-CREATES an entry on my ACT! calendar for appointments i entered directly onto my handheld.

some possibly useful info:
i'm syncing both ways (from phone to act, from act to phone)...reason being i'd like to be able to put meetings into my phone and bring them to ACT when i get back to office.

i have no problem wiping my Pearl Calendar clean and starting over.

i do NOT want to lose my Pearl addy book/phone numbers (obviously), although i'm pretty sure i have that backed up in my BB Desktop Manager.

any help would be very appreciated...thanks.

Well-I do not have an answer but I do it a bit differently. I use companionlink to synch my ACT! database to outlook (I have it set up to do this every hour automatically). I then synch my blackberry using the desktop manager to outlook. This works very well for me and I have another backup (outlook) of my information.

Default outlook middleman

thanks for the suggestion. i guess i'd never thought about using outlook and thus having some back up.

also, i believe i solved this problem...i had to instruct companionlink not to send the RIM to do list, memo pad, and address book down to ACT...haven't had a problem since.

You might have a look at Handheld Contact for a more "ACT! like" product

Another good product is CompanionLink Software, Inc. - Data synchronization for Pocket PC, Windows Mobile, Palm, and BlackBerry handheld devices I use the pro version and works great.
