Exclamation wipe completed software wont load

Please Login to Remove!

I am kicking my self in the behind....

I just got my bold a few days ago second hand...for some reason I thought I would perform a wipe to get all the other persons apps and info off the phone, I have followed directions from 100 different sites and I can not get the new device software to load. It is an unbranded phone but I am using it on AT&T.

I turn the phone on and get the 507 error as expected. I have tried both DM 4.6 and 4.7 to load new software. Everytime it says "finding boot ROM" the phone resets. The DM says "fatal error occured try again"

I am tired of trying again....

Looking for any information that my help I am completely pissed at my self

Thanks in advance

p.s. is there a default password for the PIN? Or a way to find what it is? DM is asking for it but I dont know it and assume it is default

I have been on the web all afternoon...:(

It kind of sees it but kind of not. When I go to try and load the software it tells me the PIN# and everything but sstatus is offline and device connected is none.

1) Make sure you are connected to a USB port on the REAR of the PC. Not a front PC USB port, not a USB hub or a monitor port.

2) Seeing 507 is ok, and good. That just means there is no OS detected on the device.

3) Unplug the USB, reboot the PC completely and plug the USB from the PC back into the BB, open Desktop Manager and see if the DM sees the BB, Select the App Loader and continue on.

See the directions here: How do I wipe the BlackBerry using Jl Cmder? - BlackBerryFAQ

Can I ask that the software you are trying load is from the same carrier? otherwise navigate to your common files folder and look for the vendor.xml file and delete it and try again

I have a laptop and I am using the back USB port.

9000M_PBr4.6.0_rel298_PL4.0.0.157_A4.6.0.167_AT&T

I got it from the AT&T section of the BB page

ok, well for the fun of it, download and install to the PC the .190 version found at the top of this 9000 section, remove the Vendor File, etc., and try it.

Also, read this:

Start from the very beginning with a new JL_Cmder wipe.

Follow all those directions exactly as written.

Do you have a PC somewhere you can use?

I may be able to get one from my wrok, but not sure.

I popped in the CD that came with the phone and it has sprint on it.

Maybe I need to install the sprint software then unlock the phone?

I will start all over...the saga continues

WHOA! Wait a minute.

You have a 9000 Bold, right? <<--That is NOT a Sprint device. Sprint does NOT sell the Bold.

Why do you have a "CD that came with the phone and it has sprint on it"

What EXACTLY do you have? A Bold 9000? A Sprint 8330? A Sprint 8830?

What is the branding on the face of the BlackBerry and where did you buy this device?

All of a sudden I feel like I have been wasting my time.

I would wipe it using JL_CMDR, then I would uninstall everything on the PC. Install Desktop Manager 4.6 then install the Blackberry Device Drivers. (Delete vendor.xml if need be). Then plug it in and see what happens. If and when it tells you its going to update the device software, press advanced if possible and de-select any non system stuff. By the last screenshot it looks like DM is attempting to load games/apps that are not meant for your phone. Uninstalling and re-installing DM should fix that, but if they are still there, its just as easy to de-select them.
