Red face Swapping Sim Cards on unlocked Storm..now MMS doesn't work.

Please Login to Remove!

I have an unlocked Storm that is on Tmobile service. I downloaded a program to be able to use MMS, and have the Tmobile browser, worked great. I was able to use all the features as if it was a Tmobile phone itself.

NOW THE PROBLEM...Gave phone to sister, put HER Tmobile SIM card in now she can't recieve MMS. I looked up the Service books on the phone and it doesn't have anything that says MMS, there's only 12 items in the phone's service books.

I understand If you swap sims, I may have to reinstall service books. Now how do I go about in doing that.

I don't have a data plan. I have Version 5.0.0.328

Please don't throw me off to another forum that still doesn't help with the issue. Thanks.

You need a data plan for MMS support on a BlackBerry.
The BlackBerry Data Plan is what gives you the proper service books.

When I had the Storm with no data plan MMS worked just fine. The problem happened when we SWAPPED sim cards.

Need to reinstall service books. Do I delete from the phone and DM? Any help please.

It sounds like you may have got this working with the t-mo feature enabler although I'm still unsure how you have been using MMS without a data plan. Simply if your sister does not have a data plan, she will not be able to send or receive MMS.

Maybe I'm not understanding correctly. We are using a Storm unlocked and have Tmobile phone service but am not paying for Internet at all. I do not recieve emails or anything like that. MMS was working fine. I was able unlock all functions.

NOW put in another sim card and all those unlocked features are gone. How do I go about and re-installing the service books so that she can use all the features AGAIN.

I already told you... the service books come from the carrier by way of your BlackBerry Data Plan. You need the data plan to get service books.

Unlocking the phone does NOTHING to unlock specific functions of the phone.
You don't "unlock" the MMS function. Unlocking just allows the use of a SIM card from another wireless carrier other than the one branded on the device.

You SIM card had a data plan (or T-Mo Feature Enabler) provisioned on it. It's clear that your sister's SIM card does not have this.

And I told you.. I HAVE the service books that Berryology (not through TMOBILE) offered to be able to use and I quote "HOW TO GET ALL FUNCTIONS BROWSER, MMS,AIM,WLM,ICQ,GOOGLE TALK,YAHOO IM, TZONES AND MORE TO WORK ON UNLOCKED STORM ON TMOBILE." I did everything and then had the tmobile browser (but don't use) and was able to use MMS on the storm.

I know unlocking the phone does nothing to unlock functions, I wasn't asking about that. What I'm asking is I gave my STORM to my sis to use when we switched SIM card all the features I HAD are now gone! Do I need to RE-INSTALL the service books so that she can use the feature that I had downloaded!

Am I not explaining myself right?

I guess you'll need to check with the Berryology people then.
I have no knowledge of who they are, what they do, or what they can do for your BlackBerry.
Sounds a bit on the sketchy side if you ask me... but that's just my opinion.

This. The bolded part. MMS on Tmo does not require data, but requires the feature enabler (thats how it does mms without a service book or data)

The feature enabler is PER LINE, not per device.

Contact tmo, ask for the mms for blackberries enabler to HER line.

You are explaining yourself just fine, you just aren't listening to the answer

Just because a device has the relevant service books does not mean that the presence of these allows certain features to be used.
