For some reason my phone is quite annoying about actually making sounds and vibrating when I receive messages. I.e. it doesn't.

As I write this I have just received a BBM, and no vibration, no 'bah-ding' as it arrived. I'm pretty sure text messages also make no sound. Im not so fussed with emails and 'group bbm' messages or it would drive me up the wall (although how to change that would be nice to know).

Where do I edit the settings so that it makes noise and vibrates (for BBM and SMS settings)? I know there is the profile selector in the top left of the screen, and when on vibrate, it works fine when I receive messages (vibration, no sound...as it should), just when on 'normal', it doesn't do anything, just the red LED

I have just double checked by going 'try it' in the 'sounds and alerts' option where you edit the ring tone, and it rings and vibrates when I try it, so the speaker works ok. I just need to change the settings, but have no idea how.

I had the same problem but you do have to save the changes you make by pressing the blackberry icon. I downloaded tunes from my Mac and have used them for ring tones.
