It's alive! Finally, the below setting did the trick for me! Unfortunately I also seem to have the duplicate issue...

I'm now able to sync my calendars but the times are off still. Last time I checked they were off by 8 hours after syncing. I live in the pacific time zone.
Any fix for this yet?

BB 7105t and gCalSync
I have done the TLS - Handheld step.
When I test gCalSync, I get this error: "Testing HTTPS (1/3) Failed due to java.lang.SecurityException: Cannot open SSL connectionon port 443." I get this 3 times and then it quits.
Any ideas?

everything works with exception;
- everytime sync, it create new event on gcal.
- create event on gcal and sync, event on bb is 4 hours ahead.

Got my 8700g to work
I just had to reinstall it over the other version. I replaced 1.0.8 with 1.0.8 and it asked me to reboot. It's been working ever since.

I'm wondering if anyone has been able to get this to work. I'm on an 8700G and I run the test sync and get no errors. I then try and sync and it looks like it's working but there is nothing on my gmail calendar.

I have moved my life around GCalSync time. This was done to make a human adjustment to GCalSync's time zone issue.
Just kidding. The thing pissed me off so I uninstalled it. Now I shall wait for a RIM produced solution.

Anyone get this to work on Sprint?
Hi. I've tried all of the suggestions posted, but unable to get past the test sync. It fails testing the HTTPS. All 3 of the HTTPS fail with the same error.
Error: Failed due to java.io.IOException: Permission denied
I've reinstalled GCalSync, changed from proxy to handheld. Still same errors.
Idea? Thanks!

I just got my first BB (7100t) and love it, but I would like to use something other than Outlook with my calendar. This looks good to me, but with all of the issues that are still in place I think I will wait it out.

This is working for me, but with the Pacific Time offset I am getting my appointments offset by -7 hours (my noon stuff is at 5am). Seems that it would be necessary to either set your gmail calendar to the Azores or just deal with it for the time being.

This app has a +7 hour offset for me (I am in Pacific Time zone).
You can edit the upload and download settings for this app. Go to options and timezone.
Since I am in the Pacific (-8hours) I put -07:00 for the upload and +07:00 for the download. Seems that the Gcal guy is in the same Timezone as the Azores. FOr Mountain use 6, Central 5, and Eastern 4.
Bugs.
Duplicates (trips, etc.) in the Google Web Calendar.
Will not sync one particular calendar item (it is the exact same as a few that do sync)
Doesn't seem to hold the time zone offset settings across sessions.
Recomendation:
This guy needs testers, but use a test gmail account since it really spams your account as it is now. Until he fixes these bugs (I am using 1.1.1) I recommend you wait unless you are one of the rather small crew of die-hard beta testers (guilty here...)
This app has the potential to do what we want it to do, so test away guy!

I managed to get it to work (well partially)
It logs in and syncs, but i got only 2 itmes from my gcal which has more than 40 entries (..why just 2??)
I'm on T-Mobile UK with a 8700g
BTW I also had to disable the proxy setting as described above, but a word of wanring, you should reboot the BB after chaning the setting for it to work.

ok, 2nd report:
my mistake, the 2 events which were sync were actually the only events in MY OWN calendar. The problem is that I have multiple calendars on my desktop gcal however the gcalsync only works on your own.
If this works well, it could really be a truly useful app! (can't wait to ditch Outlook)
