Angry HTML Font Color in BB Replies

Please Login to Remove!

We have a strange issue of email replies from Blackberries coming across as a navy color. Usually the email thread has been started from Outlook (with either Rich Text or HTML) and has the typical initial Black text and subsequent Blue text.

Any replies sent from a Blackberry (8700/Curve/Pearl) have this font color. It seems that the email is being turned to HTML if (it's not already). Even turning off HTML email on the device doesn't make any difference.

I see this when I view source, but I don't know where it's being put into the email:
<font size=2 color=navy face=Arial>

Has anyone seen this complaint and found a way to change this behavior? Is this something everyone sees?

I am having a similar issue with our bes, although some of the text in the replies from the orginal message is red, not all but some of the text. Strange.

I haven't found a solution yet or what is causing it.

Since this was happening to my boss, I was able to open a ticket with RIM to investigate. After continuously pointing the finger at Outlook, they were able to replicate on their BES server and escalated to their server team to find the exact cause. Will update the thread if/when RIM comes back with a solution.
