Unhappy PLEASE HELP - New 8700C will not boot

Please Login to Remove!

I just got a new 8700C to replace my old and defective device, and last night the device froze, so I restarted it. It will not reboot. At first I had the hour glass for about an hour, without ever seeing the providers welcome screen, but now when I reboot, I get only a white screen.

I have tried the following:

1. Taken out the sim card and re-inserted.
2. I have taken out the battery for more than 30 seconds about 10 times.
3. I have tried a soft reset about ten times.
4. I have tried booting without the sim card.

My PC is not recognizing the device when I attach via USB, but it is charging. Is there a code that I can enter into the device, or anything that I can do to trick it into booting, so that I may reload the OS.

Someone please help

Thanks

Found the other thread that said to connect to USB with battery removed, and I am now re-installing the handheld OS. We'll see what happens...

Does anyone know why the Blackberry devices take so long to boot? (in general)

With respect to boot time, I have an 8700g and it is BY FAR the fastest one I've had. And I've used most model BBs.

After it starts the process of reinstalling the OS using the "take out the battery" trick, you have to put the battery back in. Otherwise, it won't be able to detect it and run through what it has to run through.
