Default New Curve stuck in reboot loop - DOA?

I ordered a Curve for my wife via the AT&T Premier website and it arrived today.

I put the phone to charge this afternoon and did not pay any attention to the power status.

This evening when I was ready to setup her email account i realized the blackberry was stuck in a reboot loop 2-3 seconds red power light, 15-20 seconds hourglass, 2-3 seconds everything dark and the loop repeat again and again.

I have to wait until tomorrow morning for AT&T Premier customer service to open and let me know if they need to send a replacement.

1. Should I try JL_Cmder wipe and reflash or could this really be a hardware problem and I am better off getting this replaced.

2. Anyone know if a local AT&T store will replace a blackberry ordered via AT&T Premier website?

3. What are my options if we have to wait several days for a replacement since the Verizon number is now ported to AT&T?

JL_Cmder probably won't work in this instance. Try this:

Could this just be a software problem that can be permanently solved via firmware upgrade?

Would it better to have the device replaced since its technically DOA?

Could be caused by anything. Usually it's caused by loading something onto the device that wasn't compatible. I'd try reloading the OS and see what happens.

Since its late already I will wait until the AM... If I can exchange locally I will just do that. If I have to wait for a replacement in the mail I will try the wipe and reload.

My local AT&T store replaced the Blackberry since it was never used and I am all set now.

Default Blackberry Curve 8300 restarting while on a call

Hi guys.

My girlfriend gave as a christmas present a blackberry curve 8300. She bought it from ebay, the phone is supposedly new, but most of the times when I am on a call, the phone just restarts itself. It is very annoying! I went to an ATT store, but they couldnt help me because she didn't buy it from them. Ican't really use it because the problem is getting worse, every time it happens, the restart process takes longer.
I on't really know what to do, and she feels really bad for giving me a gift that doesn't work (besides the $300 she spent for it).

This is my first blackberry phone and I don't really have eny expertise here. I am just assuming that it might be a problem with the software. Is it possible to reformat the phone and install the software again? How can I get it?

Can ANYONE please help me?? Please!!!
