I guess this is one of those times I shouldn't as "Why", so I officially won't ask that.

If you are using the BlackBerry while charging it will stay on, if you are not using it while charging...oh I was just about to ask, nevermind.

lol, to answer your question sanders..

I've previously had many problems with the red LED status light staying on at times even when no messages and whatnot were on... and that flashing red LED light kept bothering me. I followed a fellow BB users advice and disabled the LED notification.

So now, I don't want to keep clicking to see if I have any new messages and the vibrates and tones sometimes annoy me. I have a cradle that I set the Pearl in and if faces me. I wanted the pearl to stay lit up all the time so I can just glance over to the device and see if I've any messages or emails.
:D

and if you could possibly answer another question:

I've just installed BBtoday and weather while I was installing BBlight...

what does "error starting BBweather: module 'net_rim_ecmascript' not found mean?

edit - btw, it does that with BBtoday as well.
thanks

edit2 -

on startup it also says "uncaught exception: applicationRegistry.waitfor(0xac3ae76427d17f19) timeout

BBWeather and BBToday can sometimes be a bugger to install setup to work, but they are great when they do. Make sure in BBToday, under the weather link, click preferences, and you checkmark "disabled MDS" and save. Ditto, the same under BBWeather, Options: checkmark on Disable MDS. Use Zip codes for the Location IDs on both apps. Make sure your APN settings input at your BlackBerry's Options > Advanced > TCP. And then Reboot the BlackBerry.
Even then you may need to ask BBWeather to "update" twice in a row to get it to work.
