Unhappy New Headache For New Owner

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I have recently changed to Blackberry and I am having some real problems with my 8900. I can get e-mails for about 2 or 3 days and then I stop receiving them.

I delete the old service books send the new ones and then it works again for the next three days. I have done this 3 times now and I really don't want to have to keep doing it. I have rang T-Mobile UK, but they just keep telling me the same things.

I have an instant e-mail account, a hotmail and a private business e-mail and they all stop working after three days.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Wirelessly posted (Its All About the U!)

For testing purposes, I am interested in knowing how your carrier email acct would respond?

The instant e-mail address which is the one that T-Mobile provided doesn't work when the other e-mail addresses don't work if that helps any?

I don't recommend using the TMO address. First, once it gets out and "harvested" you will have more SPAM that you want. It is totally unfiltered.

Second, the only way to read mailto that account is on the BB, so whent there is a RIM or data outage, you have no mail since you cannot use webmail to read it.

And third, you cannot take that address with you when and if you change carriers.

As for the mail issue, Do all of these come through BIS?

Do your passwords change after 3 days?

Have you tried deleting the accounts and then adding them again? Sometimes that fixes it.

Are you using FACEBOOK?

Hey,

So many questions so little time. I get all of my e-mails through BIS (I just found out what that means) yes. My passwords stay the same and have done for the past 12 months. I have deleted and re-added, but that doesn't seem to work.

I seldom use face book. Any ideas what it may be?

Delete FaceBook and see what happens. Do you remember what you did right before the first started not arriving?

I didn't even have the application installed in the first place. I was just generally using my blackberry. I have just tried using it now and it has stopped sending and receiving e-mails again.

I am really disappointed.

not a memory problem? have you checked you free memory after you quit getting email? Your carrier should be able to turn you over to a BB specialist and figure this out I would think. The regular person won't be able to help.

Memory on the BB has nothing to do with the media card. Options status.

I have checked my status and it mentions nothing about memory, maybe it is different on a 8900? File space seems fine, which i appreciate has nothing to do with it, but I'll have a look how to check the memory.

Iain

PS. Now it has randomly started working again

I doubt it is a memory issue since you have a new phone and the bytes you have provided just confirm that.
Since you did the service book-kick already and your email accounts come to life for 2-3 days, it shows something more symptomatic with your emails. Not sure why. Try opening an email account with gmail and get it going on your 8900. For some odd reason I have had lots of luck with gmail over other accounts. If gmail bites the dust after 2-3 days get in touch with T-Mo's Blackberry specialists, they are far better equipped to help you than the regulars.

Have you tried running app loader too? Some times a reload works wonders

Hello,

I have just spoken to the people at T-Mobile and they seem to think that it could be my signal where I am (I can see a transmitter from my house which leads me to think that they are just winging me off, my signal is always GPRS too).

Cripes I need help. I thought that having a Blackberry would save me time not help me spend it.

simply call them, and tell them to take the BIS plan off, and re-add it to your account, and as them to do something called a "resend to switch" doing all that should solve your issues...

simply call them and tell them to do that, dont tell them anything else, just simply say my friend works for t-mobile and blah blah blah, make something up and he said that this will work for my issue... hopefully they will do it for you and get this all fixed

It is always GRPS. I don't think TMO here supports EDGE is there anyway to see?

Today it has been working well in fairness. We will just have to see.
