Default Using Address Book in Middle of a Call?

Please Login to Remove!

During a phone conversation, the caller asks you for another person's phone number, which is in your 8830's address book.
Is it possible to access and look up a phone number in my address book without first hanging up the ongoing phone call? If so, please educate me?

You can do it without hanging up, I believe. At least I've done it on calendar. Test it yourself. Bring up the ribbon while on a call and switch to the home screen and open address book. I'm 99% sure it will work. Then bring up ribbon again to switch back to phone.

Is there a way to then SMS the person the number from the address book without the whole cut/past dance?

Cut and paste? You should be able to choose to send SMS via the menu.

Maybe I didn't explain correctly. On the Nokia's I've had, once I'm in the Address Book i could then forward the contact information of someone as a 'business card' via SMS. I don't see that type of an option. Often I find myself in the middle of a call, going into the address book and then want to forward the contact information I located to the person I'm speaking with or someone else. I don't see a way to do this other than as a PIN.

Good point. Happens to me more than just once in a while. It's fine to read it out to them but sending via SMS as an option while on that particular call and to that particular caller would be extremely handy..!! that way ya know they have the info...as long as you inputted it correctly of course.. (-%

If there is a way...I'm all ears.!

cheers,

stk
