Default AM I BRAIN DEAD??? Can not download Opera Mini4 to my T-Mobile BB Curve 8320

Please Login to Remove!

I must be brain dead or either I can't read any more....because no matter how I try, I can not download Opera mini 4 to my TMO curve. I am so disgusted right now I could just SPIT.

I had Opera mini before I updated to the v4.2.2.180 OS.(Platform 2.5.0.36) So what's stopping me now?

I have a Data Plan (Biz) and yes...I have the APN set to wap.voicestream.com

I have tried at least 20 times and no matter what, it never get past the 4th set of instructions. Keeps sending me back to the beginning and I am frustrated as #*!! over this. I even upload it from my PC to my BB by DTM? and that does not work either. I have the Opera Icon but it failed to connect. tells me to go back to Opera help, which starts this stupidity all over again.

Is there some one who has a BB Curve 8320 from TMO who has downloaded the new Opera Mini to their BB sussessfully and can you please, I am begging- I really am, explain to me how I can get it down loaded to mine?...before I send this BB on it's way along with TMO. (another rant coming!)

Thanks for any help you can offer me.

I bet you have your browser set to IE emulation and not BlackBerry.

Open the browser. Options >Browser Configuration > Emulation Mode: BlackBerry

Aww...yes it does say "Internet browser" but when I push the configuration mode nothing else shows up but "INTERNET browser". Maybe I am looking in the wrong place?

Enough for tonight...I'll try again next week. Need a break from all this frustration. In the mean time I'll use good old BB browser.

Thanks for the help.

Don't use the blackberry browser. The instructions for the download say "WAP browser" which on your Tmobile BB is the T-zones browser. Bring up the T-zones browser and goto Mini.opera.com.

I think I went through your same headache a half a dozen times before I figured out the download site likes the T-zones WAP browser.

troydbrown is correct. I had switched my browser prior to downloading to emulate Microsoft IE and that did not produce the "Download Opera Mini" link. Once I switched my 8830's browser to just "Blackberry", restarted the browser, I was then able to get the link and now Opera is working. NOTE however that I have a Sprint 8330 and not T-Mobile 8320 so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with why you're having trouble... just a thought

It can certain do WAP but for some odd reason in the default Tmobile configuration it will not bring up the download page page for Opera Mini. It is set up to use the "Tzones" browser as the WAP browser and is just easier to open up the Tzones browser then to fiddle with the BB browser to download Opera Mini. Just changing the emulation to "Openwave (WAP)" didn't work for me on my Tmobile 8320.

Follow the reply above and go to mini.opera.com. Follow download instructions. Make sure you accept user agreement. Also be sure you setup your APN as listed below. This is exactly how I downloaded Opera Mini to my 8320.

Setup the APN by going to Options >> Advanced Options >> TCP and enter the following information based on your carrier.

T-Mobile

APN: wap.voicestream.com

That's strange. It seems to work fine on my 8320.
