Default Redemption is not isntalled

Please Login to Remove!

This is crazy. Long time blackberry user who currently uses a 9630. My win7 64 bit lenovo laptop uses outlook 2010 and blackberry desktop software 7.1, when ever I sync its one way down to my phone.

This has worked flawlessly over the years.

About a month ago I started working as an engineer at a company north of here. They bought me a Q10 and I tried it out. Installed the new sync software for that phone on this lenovo laptop. Decided I hat the phone and so I returned it and uninstalled the sync software for the Q10.

No matter what I do I can not get the 7.1 software to work, always troughs the "Redemption is not installed". I even downloaded the redemption dll and ran regsvr32.exe and it says it installed .....

Any help much appreciated .......

My honest suggestion is to adapt to the new ways of doing things.

Not a good answer. Everything new is not always good.

BlackBerry went in a whole new direction with BB10 and is pushing users very hard to migrate to the cloud. Heck, even Microsoft and WP8 are forcing users to do things via cloud services rather than through local sync. You *might* find a paid workaround via apps like Sync BlackBerry with Outlook over USB Cable, but even the best of those solutions are often unreliable. If you want a BB10 device you're going to have to start migrating to the cloud. Fact of life. If you want to keep the old ways, perhaps a BlackBerry 9900 is your best bet.

Just because you don't like my answer doesn't make it any less true.

Well I am not sure what happened. But some time over the weekend it fixed itself ...

All good now. Just waiting on the 9900 and that might be the phone I stick with for a while.

The 9900 is the old way, but there's nothing wrong with the old way. The key is to choose what works best for YOU. And the 9900 IMHO is the high water mark for BlackBerry's traditional line. Best device ever, most capable, and the sweetest design.
