I use my new 8700 only for data. I keep hitting the send and end buttons by mistake and getting to "My number unknown!". Is there any way to disable or reassign these buttons?

Nope, you can only set the convience key to what you want.

I wouldn't mind being able to set the send/end buttons to applications; but no can do as of now.

I wonder when a 3rd Party App will come out to fix this. Those buttons would be extremely efficient for the data users.

If its really that much trouble, you can semi-permantently disable them by altering the backside of the keys. Snip/cut down the pins on the keyboard that touch the contacts on the mainboard. This of course means taking apart your Blackberry.
