I have two brand new in the box Rogers 8700r. They were only taken out of the box to charge, unlock, and test. They are both perfect and will work with any carrier. You have any proof these are indeed unlocked? Not only does $641.00 CDN seem steep for an 8700r there has yet be anyone who's found a way to unlock the 8700r. So far it seems the 8700c is the easiest of the 8700 series to unlock...

I have infact had my 8700r unlocked. I sent the info to GSMLocker and 48 hours later I had the unlock code. Plunked it in and worked fine..

From reading other posts though, It seems that it is hit and miss with them

Well , reading others post's here about GSMLocker and the 8700r I might have just got lucky. I wonder why they are able to unlock some 8700r's and not others.?
I figured if your able to unlock one, you should be able to unlock them all. I dont know enough about it I guess

They are absolutely unlocked and I have been able to connect to an EDGE blackberry dataplan with a cingular and T-mobile sim. I have pictures of the MEPD screen that prove it but the forums won't let me post a weblink. If you want proof send me a private email and I will send you a link to the pictures.

Considering they are C$500 in contract and cost US$150 to unlock they are very worth US$550 brand new in the box.
