Default Emails deleting - memory loss?

Please Login to Remove!

I know there is an issue with memory loss on the 8320. But it seems that it's deleting all of my received emails that are older than 2 weeks. (I have it set to keep forever).

Is this just the same memory loss issue? I just did a battery pull and still only have about 8mb free. Does this sound right? All media is stored on a 1gb card.

Thanks,

Timc01

Op states 8mb after a battery pull. Time for some house cleaning! Follow the directions exactly and report back after a battery pull with the new number!
You should be striving for 12 to 15mb.

Good Luck!

there has to be something taking up all that space. just google maps wouldnt be doing that. What do you have on the media card? is it possible you are storing things to the device instead of the card?

Justed deleted the various IM apps and I'm up to 10346977 bytes.

Media card shows I have 528.4mb (of 1gb) spare.

How would I check to see if I have any media on the device memory by mistake?

Thanks for all your help.

connect to a PC and launch Desktop manager. Go into Media manager. this will allow you to view files on the media memory and the device memory.

Arian,

That level is much too low. You are at risk for losing data. Do a battery pull and see how much it goes up. After that you should follow the link about to free up memory. You are looking for 15,000,00 to 20,000,000 file free.

Good Luck!

Thumbs down 8320 Memory Loss

Today was a very upsetting day for me, cell phone number 4 in 6 months!!! Same phone same problem. I upgraded to a Blackberry after having a Razr for a year...The rave about the SmartPhone!! Let me tell you, I have had nothing but problems with the 8320. The memory sucks!! I am a Private Investigator and it has hurt my business!! Loss of emails, text messages, loss of missed calls and so on! No warning no nothing just blank!! I have never seen anything like it! I am with Alltel and at first the salesman was shocked, he had never seen this problem and told me it was a defect in the phone, got me another one...a month later went back same thing he ordered me anew phone...about a month goes by and same thing!!!! I was out of town and was in Alabama with my husband, luckily they had an alltel store, Kim, the salesperson went on line and discovered it was due to lack of memory, so she sold me a memory card...here I am just 2 months into it and the damn thing goes out again!!!!!!!!!! I went to Alltel in a rage, the kid was doing his job trying to convince me it was a simple fix....yea right!!he told me that it was a technical problem that blackberry was working on and gave me a 1800# to call when I got home, he also told me to delete some of my software and unused programs...OH that of which came with the phone.
How in the world are u going to sell an expensive phone and the average person cant ever use it??? Oh by the way, the salesman said his roommate had the same phone and after 3 days had too much memory in his phone!!
This is not a way to run a business! Blackberry shame on you!!!
Well here I sit with a phone that will not store anything, will not keep track of a phone log, erases my messages and I have to pay not only high dollar price for this high tech phone but also have to pay a phone bill and after my husband made a huge deal out of this huge inconvenience we now await for Alltel to send me a new phone overnight!!!!
Lets see what happens next!!

These folks were the best when I worked for T-Mobile. The majority couldn't believe something so simple as turning their device off and back on every so often (or a battery pull in the case of the Blackberry devices) would keep their phone working fine.

The really upset ones just wanted another phone and usually escalated to a supervisor when I'd tell them no (the supervisor also told them no).

I'd sometimes use the comparison that if you didn't change the oil in your car and it stopped working would you demand a new car from the dealer?
