Exclamation CDMA Bold

Please Login to Remove!

FYI - according to a RIM Rep...they ARE working on the CDMA BOLD, "but it will be a while!". And no real answer or definition of what that time frame may be!

Wow, so you mean there will eventually be a CDMA version of a new BB that's released, but not for a long while after it premieres for GSM?

I wish I had a rep inside of RIM to feed me that kind of exclusive info! ;)

9030 (guess on the name) *should* be out before years end. 9530 (again guess) should be out for back to school on VZW/Vodafone

I've seen rumors of a September 2008 release for the CDMA Bold... Doubt it, but that's much better than a year after the GSM versions.

eh somewhat back. and i see things are still in one piece. i need to find a new avatar from the movies...
but back on topic,
Bold - June 25
CDMA Bold - October/November
Thunder - August/September (if it releases later, count on the CDMA bold out Nov/Dec is my guess)

You are very optimistic! I hope we see RIM hit those release dates too, but I am not confident.

Yeah, 4.3.1 was going to come out last Christmas!

But Sith's predictions are usually pretty close.

I am using the VXW 8830. Are all VZW BB's CDMA?

Now the question I want to ask... and Hopefully those who know or might know (or at least have some insider info) is if the Verizon BOLD will be a hybrid device for CDMA/GSM like the 8830. And or possibly like the rumored Thunder with CDMA EVDO rev. C and GSM/HSPA 3G ?

If this happens, I would be really happy, don't care if it's the former or latter, but if we can have both CDMA/GSM again in future blackberry's, my job will be alot easier.

Depends on how long you want to wait. If you want a new device now, then just get the Curve, it is a very nice device.

I have to disagree with Sith and say hold out for it.

While the Curve is nice, the Bold seems like it is going to blow its doors off.

Twice the Processor, better Browser, 3G, WiFi, etc.

I would wait.

Don't make the mistake I did and upgrade now to a Curve and then have to pay full price for a Bold when it comes.

Default Will the Verizon CDMA Bold have unlocked GPS as well as WiFI

Just went from a Treo 700p to Curve 8330 on Verizon 5 days ago on my new-every-two and advanced data discounts...with mail in rebate paid $50 bucks for phone.

Been a Verizon customer for 12 years but getting frustrated by the lack of GPS functionality, Verizon usually being well after the fact on getting new phones (ok Thunder is a step in the right direction), and lack of WiFi.

I'm HOPING that the Verizon Bold will:

a) be out in September 2008 time frame
b) NOT have limited GPS functionality
c) be WiFi capable.

I'm leaning toward returning the Curve before my 30 days are up and either switching to AT&T for the Bold or going back to my Treo and waiting for the CDMA Bold.

Thoughts/Recommendations?
