Does anyone know of a WI-FI finder app like the iPhone app? I am hoping to use my BB to help find WIFI spots on a cross country road trip. Not for using wifi on the BB, but on my laptop. Any help on this is . Thanks.

Does your phone have wifi? I'm not sure if the 8830 does. If it does, you go into Manage Connections, then Set Up Wifi Network, and Scan for Networks.

A dedicated application would be fantastic though.

Manage Connections -> Wi-Fi Options, Menu -> Wi-Fi Tools -> Site Survey, Menu -> Start Scan

I don't have Wi-Fi Options on my BB. I want an app to help me find the wifi hot spots using the GPS on the BB. Like GasBuddy, but WiFi spots.

If you don't have Wi-Fi Options, and that makes sense if you have an 8830 as your profile specifies (the 8830 does not have Wi-Fi) then you would need a magic application to find a hot spot.

Take a look at the superpages app. It is supposed to be able to find wifi hotspots based on your GPS location. Go to Yellow Pages: Superpages Yellow Pages, Maps, Driving Directions, Weather... and click on download blackberry app (button up near top of screen). You can also get it from app world. This will do what you want.
