Default whose wifi/uma is working with no problems?

Please Login to Remove!

I got the 8320 yesterday and there seems to be a lot of issues with my wifi. It gets pretty weak reception (1 or 2 bars) where my mac book gets full reception. When surfing when I am connected on wifi, it isn't consistent, and stops receiving data sometimes. When I am on UMA and try calling out, it usually drops out and goes back to edge, even though I am standing still.

When I go to WiFi diagnostic settings, sometimes UMA is connected, other times it says Error Code J0013.4, failed to connect, location unknown.

Does this seem like a problem that will be resolved tomorrow (new service books or something)?

I wouldn't expect anything new tomorrow. The 8320 didn't just "go live" on Friday. Some devices were in the hands of customers a few weeks ago, and it was being tested internally months ago.

Mine is running perfectly with WiFi and UMA in several locations.

I have had no problems at Home on my router, at Starbucks and even on some open public networks. It has been wonderful.

At first mine was kinda flaky reception wise. But after I did a wipe and started fresh it has been fine. It connects to the various routers I've tried and works great. Did you happen to do a backup and restore from another Blackberry?

no i didn't backup or restore. but i realized it might be an issue with my router.

for everyone:
what kind of signal strength (0 to 5 bars) is listed when you go to 'setup wifi' then 'scan for networks'?

I haven't tried mine today, but mine was dropping in and out similar to what the OP stated in the first post as well. Connects fine on the router, the UMA has been shaky though

There are other reports of issues with "N" routers.
I have NO ports open on my router and have been using UMA all day.

I'm having the same problem. Connects to wireless fine, data fine. When I try to make a call, it disconnects as soon as it rings, and if someone tries to call me the same thing happens. When I make a call, right after it disconnects the call it disconnects from the UMA and goes back to EDGE.

This seems like a problem a few people are having. Anyone find any answers anywhere? Already tried opening ports 4500 and 500 as well. No dice.

I've been messing with mine all night and have had no luck...even turning off the radio so it doesnt try to switch back to edge yielded the same results. no open networks around here to test it out.
