First post on the Forum and I feel I need to come clean
I'm what I guess you would call an intermediate IT fan, have been involved in IT (at an enthusiasts level) for around 14 years at both software and hardware levels (system builds, problem solves with some HTML/Java C++ experience and Microsoft OS experience etc) So I have a little knowledge of IT.
Have just been given a Blackberry Bold 2 9700 for work and have never like them. Always believed they were too small (keyboard especially) and impractical for things like email and internet etc.
A week later, I could not have been more wrong! I love it. Have managed to ditch the 'fat fingers' (they weren't in the first place!) syndrome and am picking up the keyboard quite nicely now.
I can't believe how much you can customize them. The ease of navigating around the device and the speed of applications is fantastic. Very easy to setup email configuration and provides as much menu detail of contacts etc that I need for work.
I especially like the UMA (even if it is rather intermittent for me) as I get a poor signal here at home.
One thing I dislike the the case. I genuinely thought that the case provided was the wrong one. I can't see the need for the top of the device to stick out the top of the case like that when it can be flush (like my PDA) and slid out from the the sides. Thats my only dislike I have to say.
So, having disliked their concept for so long and having used one for less than a week now, I don't know why I didn't upgrade sooner!
Anyway, I look forward to searching through the forums as they look exelent.
Regards,
Graeme
