Having issues with an unlocked 9630.
Please Login to Remove!
I was able to get my phone unlocked but am now having issues with internet / apps / setting up my email. Texting and calls work fine on the phone but it seems like the data side of things isn't working. I was under the assumption that I would just insert my att sim card into the phone and it should work okay with a few changes in advanced options. The phone previously was a Verzion phone but I have ATT service. Just curious if I'm missing a setting or if its even possible to have the DATA side of things working on the phone. Thanks again!
My service settings are
Mobile ATT
automatic
GSM/UMTS.

For data, you must have a BB data plan properly activated on the account with AT&T, the IMEI and PIN set up in BIS and the proper service books sent.

I did have an older Blackberry( 8310) so I do have the blackberry data package on the account. So I would just need to contact ATT and tell them to update my IMEI and PIN for their records?

nope, you can do it yourself.
Login to BIS and use the change device option.

So use my old bb's info to create a new account on the att BiS site and then update it that way?I also got a text saying that my wireless has been registered with the network.

no, you have an account already, you login with the username and password, and then use the "change device" option within it, to enter the new pin and imei number.

I bought the phone used because I dropped my iphone in the snow :o.I just got a 3G sim card from ATT and put it in the phone and it worked fine after getting the data package switched over. I guess the only way to fix the issue would contact ATT about the issue.

So, you had an old blackberry, that you created an account for.
But you have a new sim, with a new BB data plan attached?
If thats the case, then just create a new account.

I had an iphone with att but broke it. Bought a used BB off craigslist and didn't have to do anything besides get an ATT sim card and call them when I wanted to register the phone on the att network / switched to a BB data package. I never created a BiS account for the old blackberry I have.

right, thats fine.
So the new device is registered with a blackberry data plan.
Have you created the BIS account for the new blackberry?

The new device is using the ATT sim card out of my old blackberry. The newer blackberry ( 9630 ) was on verzion but I got it unlocked. I can make all calls / recieve texts but have no access to the internet. When I try going through cingulars BiS support page it says your "Your account is not accessible via HTML browser. Please use your device to access BlackBerry Internet Service."
I've tried using the old pin / iemi and the new 9630 pins Iemi and get the same error message. Is there a specific place I have to change over to the ATT data from the verzion network? I see EDGE on the top right of my screen and everything but no data access. When I try to setup my email it says " Your device had a problem connecting to the server "

Because AT&T does not have the Tour in their line up, you will have to MANUALLY load the GENERIC Service Books.
Search for "How to Get All the Features Working on my Unlocked Storm" and you should find instructions. The same process works for the Tour.

See the yellow sticky at the top of the 9500 section. Instructions are there for using a 9530 on ATT/TMO. Should work similarly for the 9630/9650 I would think. Or at least give you a place to start.
