Mine arrived today! Love it! Yes the keys are a bit different than the 87xx or 72xx series but I think over time they will be easy to get adjusted to....

I got mine yesterday and for the most part, I like it. I hope the 8300 comes out on May 7th so I can still have time to return my 8800 during the 14 day trial. I like it, but I think the 8300 will fit much better for me. I hope I can get use to the ball instead of the track wheel, I got so use to the wheel.

I'd rather have GPS than wifi.....

It takes no time at all to get adjusted to the trackball.... I had same issue when I changed over to 8100.... Don't hold your breath on May 7th

Default I dont know if I like the 8800

No doubt it has some great features, GPS, great screen, sharp looks, etc. Its distractions are also worth stating, very small keyboard, the finish makes it look like i just got done eating some chicken wings. Also, it doesnt look very durable. What would happen if I drop it like I have dropped the BB7200 so many times. Is there a reason why its not so durable? Products are supposed to improve over time. All I see here are bells and whistles. The core functions email, phone, etc, have regressed. The software.....after all that hype......I could have thought of allot more to incorporate into the software.

I guess I may be having withdrawl from my 7230 but the 7230 did what its supposed to do fast and effeciently. I dont know if I can crank out an email as fast on the 8820. I will give it a few days and then decide if the 7230 needs to be reactivated.

The older bb's didnt have all the bells and whistles but they sure did a good job of getting email out and served as great phones. I suspect that Motorola is reading this. There is a need for what I am talking about here.

Same here.

I compared my Pearl to the 8800 and hands down, the 8100 is built much stronger than the 8800 that I have.

I was with sort of understanding you until you mentioned Moto. Based on user reports that I have heard, I cannot think of phone with a worse reliability reputation than the Razor.

I can say that I have dropped my 8700 a lot -- and it keeps on ticking. The 8800 may be more robust than it appears.

It's the device. I use a BT headset and it doesn't pickup the noise that the 8700's mic does. My wife uses an ety.com headset with hers in the car for the same reason. Otherwise it's difficult to hear her over he road noise (which usually sounds like loud running water).

I'm not advocating anyone going to Motorola. All I am saying is that RIM seems to have abandoned the market for good basic b to b communication. All those manufacturers out there looking for a new product opportunity will soon fill the gap. I still like BB but the 7200 line seemed more durable and effecient.
