Default Question About The Keyboard

Please Login to Remove!

Okay, so we know that the ClickThrough screen seems to work well, if early reviews are to be believed. My question to those of you who have used it is does the keyboard keep the "Blackberry experience?". How does stuff like holding down a letter to capitalize or the double space period translate? Are there shortcuts to reply, compose, and forward or do you have to use the BB button for these?

I appreciate any responses.

Oh, and how is typing within the browser? Can you call up the keyboard when you need it or does the device "know" when a typing field is present, say for forums like this one?

Wirelessly posted

These are great questions! I have been wondering these things myself. I would imagine the browser pops the keyboard up when you select a text box, but the other questions are great!

Come on guys, there are numerous people on here claiming to have used one.

Please, endulge us!

I 'third' this thread. I'm really interested to hear detailed opinions about the keyboard experience. Especially valuable from folks who have spent enough time with it to get used to it. I'm a very long and happy blackberry user but I'm not biased against other phones. However, when I first heard about the iPhone I thought it was going to suck. Keeping an open mind I was pleasantly surprised with their keyboard. It isn't the same as a blackberry but their corrective typing software does an excellent job making it possible to type pretty fast. I have other things that didn't workout on the iPhone and kept me on my blackberry but the keyboard was only slightly one of them. (no feedback is rough for typing in the car). I'm really curious how this experience with the iPhone would translate to the Storm. Once you settle in can you type pretty fast or does the design force you to hover at a certain nominal speed?

Thanks for any info you early users might have?

I may be wrong but when ready the mods of many of these sites get access to the devices first for learning purposes so we may learn these issues sooner than we think. We are all in the same boat at least.
