Default Anyone notice that email sent from Mac Mail will not show attachments?

Please Login to Remove!

I have noticed that when email is sent to me from a Mac user's Mac Mail account with attachments, pictures, pdf's etc, no attachment is shown at all.
This only happens when people send me mail from that application. Is that due to the inline attaching mail does? Is there a way around this?
Thanks in advance!

I just noticed it but I do not know what to make of it. Attachments from other ISP's come through just fine.

Yep...... it must have something to do with the inline HTML stuff that Mac Mail does. What is bad for me is the fact that an important company I free lance with ONLY uses Mac Mail..... so I can never see their attachments when I am out of the office, which is quite often. It's a real issue right now.

If you place your attachment as the last thing in your message, or right after your signature, it sometimes goes through... if its in the middle, macmail writes it into the html...

It might also help if you ask them to send attachments as icons, and not inline. I've never had a problem receiving Mac Mail attachments on my BB that have been sent that way.

Just one more reason why HTML'ized email is evil. Seriously.

True. The issue is everyone that uses a mac, myself included, that I know..... just drags and drops the attachments. I always put mine at the end of the email, but it seems no one at this company does! Annoying!

Hi, I have a "Send Windows Friendly Attachments" tick box at the bottom of the MAC attachment pop-up.

If you tick the box it comes as a separate attachment but if you don't it embeds the image into the body of the email which the BB server can't handle. The same goes for Lotus Notes when people cut n paste into the body rather then add an attachment.

I'm running OS X 10.4

the "send windows friendly attachment" feature simply removes the mac resource fork... You'll still intermittently have problems depedning where i the message it goes. There's a great macmail website called hawkwings that has tons of 3rd party mail and ical enhancements y'all may want to look at. I;m curious too if leopard mail will make things better or worse...
