BBWeather error solved for 8100 users
Please Login to Remove!
Okay, I know I wasn't the only one with this problem.
Load BBWeather. Go to options and select it. Now, DO NOT HIT the menu key as this will error everything and lock up the phone. Instead, push your trackball... weird huh? This was causing me all kinds of problems before. Now, go to options, disable mds, and enter in a profile and there ya go.
Why it is like that I don't know, but it cause me a lot of problems as I am used to hitting the menu key to open the menu and not pushing the trackball.
Hopefully it helped out a few of you out... hahaha.

You did it, it works now. I messed with it for what I'm sad to say was hours and I never once pushed in the track ball. Thanks

Thanks! This is one of my favorite programs and I've tried for a week now to get it working with no success.

That didn't work for me. I can get to the Profile screen and enter my Location ID, but then the OK button doesn't work. I click it and nothing happens. The Cancel button works fine - but then it doesn't save my Profile. Any ideas?

At that point I believe the menu key WILL work and you can select save for the profile before you exit. I think it asks you to save as well when you exit out as well but I might be wrong. Just make sure you disable MDS as well on the main options before you go to add another profile.

The same thing happened to me in the past - I wasn't entering anything in the description field, figuring the zip code was enough. Once I filled all the fields it worked. Hope this helps...

Great job, I was actualy trying to learn how the source code worked and java and recompile based on the 4.2 JDK.
Mine didn't work when I disabled the MDS Proxy so I unchecked it and then it asked me to allow the connect to the http site, which I did and BAM works like a champ.
For those of you that are still having problems and can get to the options menu highlght the profiles area and click the applications button to add (that one took me a minute to figure out) enter your zip and a description then save and BAM again you have a working BBWeather.

Still more issues. The trackball trick worked, I deleted (or unchecked) the MDS proxy, and now I am getting "error. Invalid URL Parameter." If I check the MDS proxy, I get an error that says "open tunnel failure". Ideas?

I got this tip from another thread but it sure helped me! By the time I had installed that program I had already gotten used to using the menu key and didn't even realize it.
Note: If you are a BES user don't uncheck MDS. You'll most likely need it to get through your corporate server. If you are a BES user and you can't get it to work you'll need to call your IT and make sure that MDS is enabled for your account.

I figured mine out, I went to the advanced options, tcp:
APN:wap.voicestream.com
Uaername:use what you do to sign into my tmobile
Password: use what you do to sign into my tmobile
Check the disable MDs proxy box in the options in the bbweather program. Mine worked perfect after that

Yep, that will work. If you are not on a BES you will need to set it up like this. If you are on BES checking the disable MDS box will not work.
