You should be able to open/view the pdf files attached to the mails in your mailbox. Is the pdf file an attachment? Or, is it a pdf file saved in the madia card that you are trying to open?

I believe it is an email attachment they are trying to open.

Did you try a battery pull?

You should be able to open it.

What OS are you running, maybe you're running into a bug of some sort.

Edit: Try deleting the email and have it resent to you.

Try deleting the email and have it resent to you, and attempt to open it again.
(Try sending yourself a couple different types of .pdf files and see if you could open any of them.)

If you still can't open it, I'd suggest updating to the latest OS.

See if that fixes anything, if not then there is a setting that is turned on or off somewhere.
