Default TomTom ONE XL with Blackberry 8320 on T-Mobile

Please Login to Remove!

Can anyone get this to work? I get as far as selecting one of four T-Mobile choices. I've gone through all 4 and it won't connect. I have Blackberry Internet and all that sort of thing. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help!

I have an XL and an 8830 on Sprint and they won't work together.

Check on the TomTom website, I don't believe that BB are supported.

TomTom, portable GPS car navigation systems

Doesn't matter who the carrier is TMO, Sprint, VZW etc.

Default Tom Tom ONE XL and Curve

I emailed Tom Tom support and they advised me that they don't support the curve at this time. Hopefully in the future they will add the curve to the list of supported phones.

Default Tom Tom Support clueless

I have the 8320 and i can connect w no issues, i have the TT 910 go. here is what you do, I am hoping you all have the 4.5 os. ok delete your phone from your TT. allow TT to find your phone, it will not find data that you must do auto, first sellect U.S. then when it ask for phone model select other, then select TMO 1, it will stop at 65%, not to worry. it will ask for manuel settings select yes, clear everything there and put in. wap.voicestream.com. next screen username leave blank, password leave blank. next screen select auto,
make sure on your curve you have tcp set to wap.voicestream.com. option advance options tcp. you should now see it go pass the 65% and connect w/o issues. BTW THE DATA TRAFFIC ON TT IS THE BEST I HAVE SEEN, ALSO WEATHER INCLUDED.

Do the One XL that everyone is asking about in here, and the 910 go have the same settings and OS? If not then this probably will not work.

I'm curious about that too (One XL vs 910) - When it fails to find the right features, the only choices are bail or retry. Don't see a config manually choice?

to delete phone go to manage phones select yours and delete. the settings are identical in both units, when it fails to go further then 65% it will tell you unable to config phone data, next choice is retry or end. select retry untill the preferance for manuel config. then you can follow the above instructions

posted this on pinstack some time ago... give it a whirl:

this applies to the 4.2.1.66 for 8700 mentioned below, and all os 4.5 that i have tried on my 8320.

howdy folks... i got a tomtom one not too long ago and ive been scratching some anatomy trying to figure out how to get the darn thing to connect to my tmo 8700g for data services.

i just put the 4.2.1.66 on it and its working great... im using the berry to get wireless through my bluetoothed mac laptop, and i wanted to take advantage of the PLUS services of the tomtom one.

after playing around for hours with the berry and the tomtom, here are the settings they need for data to work (weather, traffic, traffic cameras, instant messaging, buddy location, etc.):

on berry:
options --> advanced --> TCP --> apn to wap.voicestream.com (we already knew this, right?) no username or pee-dub.

on tomtom one:
APN: wap.voicestream.com
Username:
Password:
Dial: *99***1#
Connection string: AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","wap.voicestream.com" (case and whitespace sensitive)

for the tomtom, do a manual setup... disregard the 4 tmo options and use auto ip and dns settings.

goodluck, and be amazed! whoa!

jzarowitz thanks for your post.

I tried the settings with my Blackberry Curve 8320 running OS v4.5.0.55 with Tmobile and TomTom Go (not sure of the version number).
It took the settings and says it connected successfully. However whenever I try to download anything (be it weather, traffic, updates etc) it says downloading (shows a progress bar with 0%) and then eventually says the connection failed. I click OK on the TomTom and then it says Script Error.
I have tethered my Blackberry to my laptop and used it before so I tried using the connection string specified in my Bluetooth Modem settings which are quite similar to the ones you specified, but no luck with those either.
Any ideas??
