Default [BIS] works only using Wi-Fi!

Please Login to Remove!

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post my questions but in the last 5 days BIS service on my 8900 is working only under Wi-Fi connection.
Once I turn off Wi-Fi BIS service stops working at all and I'm not able to receive/send emails or use internet.
I think I'm not having problems with RIM servers and problem depends on my carrier...otherwise BIS connection should not work even under Wi-Fi....

What do you think?

Delete accounts and re-add them. Also when you don't have Wi-Fi, do you have EDGE or edge ?

Double-check with your carrier that you have a properly provisioned BIS BlackBerry data plan on your account. If they screw something up with your account, as happened to me on AT&T once and on T-Mobile once, that could account for this problem.

But my account with the carrier (Wind Italy) is ok...I can see my BIS connections
on the carrier website (all connections are under wifi).
Once I turn off wifi my Javelin stops receiving emails and every push service.
If I had problems with my carrier account, I should not be able to use BIS services, never! No?

even if BIS is active thru Wi-Fi, something may be turned off within your carrier, what happen if you turn off Wi-Fi and send a registration message ?

I receive a message confirming that the BB is registered on the net.

If I start the diagnostic tool I receive a negative response only in "BlackBerry PIN-PIN" (wifi turned off, if wifi is ON everything it's ok)

You might also log into your BIS page at your carrier's web site and go through the "Change Device" section where you enter your PIN and IMEI. Even if they have your current one listed, going through the steps as if it was a new device might refresh it and get you sorted.
