Edit: Cingular/ AT&T BIS 2.3 NOT now up and running
Please Login to Remove!
This was mentioned in another thread but thought people would want to know.
I have been waiting for this, hope it lives up to the hype.
https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=mycingular
Good week for Cingular/ At&t- 8300 and new BIS launch.
I am not switching over yet because I don't have the time to reset all of my Gmail work-arounds. If anyone switches let us know how it goes and give a review.

If you sign in you will see an option to upgrade to 2.3. It explains all the pros/cons also. I am still on 1.8- skipped the 2.0 upgrade.

Verizon did the switch. I was able to login and resent the service books but they have not arrived yet. Guess they are having some implementation problems.

I didn't get anything of the sort. Same old login screen, same old options, but I too am not receiving BIS email....I resent my service books to see if that would help. As soon as that's done, I'm gonna do a battery pull....

P.S. BES works fine....

I didn't see anything about upgrading after I logged in. Maybe I was already on that version?
fwiw, I also do not use BIS so can't say whether it's working or not.

You could not be on that version unless you are in Europe. It was launched overnight (6/1-6/2).
I log in and an option comes up for switching over.... HOLD EVERYTHING!!
The main page says 2.3 now available but under it is all the 2.0 info. Here is the exact wording:
Upgrading to BlackBerry Internet Service v2.3
BlackBerry® Internet Servicexxx8482; version 2.0 is NOW available!
NOTE: Please read this entire notice carefully as there are several new improvements and changes. Depending on your individual needs, you may not choose to migrate at this time.
Currently, your BlackBerry Internet Service v1.8 account features push email from up to 10 Internet email accounts. If you migrate, you will receive additional functionality, namely integrated email account management from the device. BlackBerry Internet Service v2.0 improvements include
My bad- I read the top line and it says 2.3 available and I figured the rest was info on 2.3- They must be loading it and just switched the top line- Very Odd. I saw that, which I have been checking for every day< and figured the switch had occured.
I am leaving for the morning and did not have time to read the whole thing as I was going to switch later.
Sorry for the confusion but in my defense it does say Upgrading to BlackBerry Internet Service v2.3 .

New option I see in my email account setup is a check box that says
"Synchronize deleted items between this mailbox and my device."
Just checked it but my BIS mail is not coming in right now so I can not test it. Ugh

Not to be a contrarian, but I think your initial inclination was right. I'm 90% sure this is the BIS 2.3 rollout, albeit very poorly executed. The appearance of the "sync deleted items with device" option under the "edit" option for the email accounts (which I have on my account as well) as well as the mysterious downtime of BIS this morning and the notice some people received late last night when trying to log in to their BIS accounts about the server being down for service all point to this being the BIS 2.3 rollout; but, again, a very poorly executed one (at this point anyway).
I'll be interested to hear when someone actually receives a BIS email today....

I sent out an email to my staff (not to their BlackBerry addy) and CC'd my dot Mac account and received it on my 8830 with Verizon. Not sure how, and that's the ONLY email I've received since last night. As noted, PIN messaging still works.

Well I just received (8:40 EDT) an email sent at 4AM this morning. But nothing since. Sent various emails to my BIS accounts but still nothing.
As an aside, if you do a search for BIS 2.3 on the support section of blackberry.com there are now numerous documents. Most dated 2007-04-30 but there were not there a few days ago.
I still suggest everyone resending their service books as some of the new features will require them.

I forwarded one of my voicemail emails to my blackberry.net account. Took 17 minutes to arrive, and STILL can't open it (the attachment) but at least it shows it to me (just get the time-clock next to it)

I logged into BIS at 8:30 EST this morning to go into each account to check the new delete option. After clicking Save for the first of my accounts, I immediately starting receiving all of my back emails and haven't had any problems since.

WAV Attachments Open
I upgraded to BIS 2.3 and sent a voicemail wav to my yahoo account.
It was pushed instantly and the wav attachment opened just fine.

ok seems all the email lag is over with, thankfully. It is now telling me the voicemail is "unrecognized document format" for small mp3 file (67k) thought it was supposed to allow upto 500k voicemails in wav or mp3 now

Well the attachment opened but never downloaded/played on my BB.
I sent another WAV attachment to a BIS account (not my BB address) and after opening the attachment it said "unsupported document".

Which way is the sync. My mail is moving but I don't see any synch at this point. Testing it out - I still get no synch.
