Have you dropped it? Has it been in an area of high humidity for any length of time? What is the color of the moisture indicator inside the device?

What trouble shooting have you done so far? Have you tried a battery pull to see if that has any affect?

What was the last thing you did right before this started to occur?

You can search for the location and appearance of the moisture indicators. There will be one in the battery compartment, and generally they are white when unexposed, and pinkish when exposed to water.

Flakey keyboard and button problems are classic symptoms of moisture exposure. It doesn't take much, and may not cause the moisture indicators to change. A sweaty pocket has been reported to cause problems, for example.

Moisture needs to be dealt with right away before further damage occurs. See blackberryfaq.com.

If it isn't moisture, then another possibility is damage or hardware failure.

Software also may be a possibility, but I doubt it. Water seems the most likely. You probably got it damp, or water dropped on it, and you didn't realize it.
