Default Which is best carrier?

Please Login to Remove!

The 7230 feels good, so I'm leaning towards TMobile, but I wonder whether the Nextel phone will operate my 4.0 better or give me better web browsing, and then I wonder whether I shouldn't wait for the new Horizon device, and sign up with them instead if indeed it will be a better unit than what's now available. Any help?
Thanks

I have been happy with T-Mobile. Have a friend who has AT&T and when he goes to Sarasota he gets no signal.

It's really a personal preference. Few things to keep in mind:

1) Where will you use it mostly use the device?
2) How much are you willing to pay?
3) Do you know many people with a nextel?
4) Will you use the device for voice and data, or data only?
5) will you travel overseas with the device?
6) Who do you currently use on your phone?

Just a few questions I ask ALL my customers, nice thing about selling EVERYONE except Verizon is that there's a company that will suit your needs, rather then you suiting theirs. Get back to me on those questions and I'll give you my personal professional oppinion.

Aside of that I use ATT and LOVE them, I travel to Florida on a bi-monthly basis for business and pleasure and haven't had any problems, even in sarasota with my 7280 ;) Though my travels usually take to me Daytona and Orlando. Pleasure takes me to Kissimee and Avon Park.

What part of the country do you live in?

I'm in Los Angeles, and am with Tmobile. no complaints at all. Great reception everywhere I go.

Thanks for the info on coverage. But who provides the best device, all things being equal? Is the Nextel device better given that it may not need a BES subscription? Is there anything special about the Verizon or TMobile devices that would cause one to consider signing up for their service instead? Or do any of the providers provide a better browsing experience than their competitors, for example?

One other item I'm not sure of. Will Nextel, or any other carrier, have better capabilities to work with the 4.0 Operating System?

Well I am a sales rep for T-Mobile, so we know where my vote goes. If you're interested I can check your address and town for coverage if you'd like. You can PM me your address if you'd like. Our coverage is more or less metropolitan, however our Blackberry rates are second to none. We've been commited to offering RIM devices for a while now, and we're working closely with them (hence 7100t being exclusive to T-Mobile) and provide better integration, better support, and cheaper data plans.

It's based upon: Carrier comp, my companies comp, the phone spiff, and the bolt-on spiff. So lets take one example:

I sell a T-Mobile (not real figures by the way, I'd be fired if I posted real figures), on a 39.99 MRC plan, the phone I sell is lets say a V300 for $100USD. I add bolt-ons, txt and t-zones. My comp would look something like this:

Plan Comp - $10
Company comp - $5
Phone comp (comes to 25% of holding value, if I go bare minimum on a phone I get $0, anything over bare minimum I get 25%) - $12.50
Bolt - Ons - $15

I just made 42.50 off that one sale essentially. It's not that bad, but lets say to close the deal I sold the phone for bare minimum of $50, I would only have gotten $30.

Any accessory sale I do, after hitting my $400 quota for the month I get 25%. Average comp check for selling no more then quota ranges from 500-1500 depending on how well I sell, and how much I sacrifice to make the sale. Some of my direct friends make more in comp, but my T-mobile friend is jealous, I actually make more then T-mobile comp on the same plans and phones lol. It helps to have my company pay me comp as well ;) It also helps the wallet when I sell more then one, lets say someone comes by, I pitch them AT&T but they HATE AT&T (it happens, OFTEN), so I pitch them T-mobile and they buy. Were-ass if they walked into cingular, heard of the buy out they did on AT&T that customer may walk away, they have no other angle to pitch and bring the customer in.
