connecting Desktop Manager to Blackberry Simulator
Hi, I'm able to connect the version 4.0 Desktop Manager to the 7290 Simulator in the 4.0 JDE for "Backup and Restore" and "Intellisync" but not, for some reason, the Application Loader, which is the only thing I really want :(
The reason being that I want to test my ALX files before shipping to the customer. I realize I can also distribute over the web using .JAD files, but am having other problems with that method.
What happens, when I double-click the Application Loader, is that the Wizard pops up, continues on to "Connecting to the handheld (JVM)", then that times out, and it tries "Connecting to the handheld (ARM)", then it gives up and tells me to check the connection. As soon as I close the wizard, the connection with the simulator is reestablished. I've got the simulator set up to emulate a USB connection to the computer, which as I already said works fine for the other two functions but not for this. I've tried setting the simulator "in holster" and out, with no effect either way.
Anybody found a solution for this?

I am having the same problems. Desktop manager sees that the device is connected, also shows the correct pin, but when I try and load an app I get a timeout.
Any ideas?

Simulator Pin Number Issue with the 7250
I have the JDE 4.0 application, and I am able to run the simulator, however, when I run the desktop manager it says it is connected via USB which is fine. But here is where the problems begin, first, the pin number it shows is not the one to my BlackBerry so I think that is responsible for the second problem which is the inability to do a restore into the simulator to check things on it and to take screen shots to be used on power point presentations I am developing. I have a 7250 thru Verizon, so the obvious first questions are, 1) Has Verizon cripled any of these functions?, 2) since I do not see on the list the 7250 as BBs that are emulated, is it moot to try and use it this way, and do I have to wait till the 7250 is added to the list, or is there a patch someplace that I am missing? I thought that the 7250 and the 7290 where so close to each other that the simulator should be representative of the 7250 as well., 3) Is there a way to change the PIN number on the emulation so that it indeed sees the right unit on the desktop manager allowing it to restore properly? Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
