hello everyone, i have a question. i want to install one program to my blackberry, but it won't install it, because the file is 300+ kb. it's a chat program, like icq, but russian. so, if you could split it up so that it'd install on my bb, i'd thank that person. it's completely virus-free, and if you want, virustotal.com is for you to check it for viruses on the computer. don't know any web site like this for cell phones yet... so, really do hope you won't get them for me... so, who'll do it? the web site for that program is agent.mail.ru and there at the right corner will be an english flag. on the right side, then, will be a list of platforms for which this program is created, and i have java. yes, i do have it. but i have a version that is i don't know how old, and want a newer one.

by the way, older version is about 98 kb, i think, that's why it installed just fine. this one is about 300 kb, and won't install

What do you mean "won't install"? What installation method are you using? What error are you getting?

300KB is no problem for a BB installation.

so, i'm using OTA (over the air) - through internet, and tried downloading it on the computer first and then on a flash card, and it won't install neither way.
i'm getting error
907: Invalid JAR Error!:control flow verification information too large: a, and this happens with actually every program i'm installing, be it pearl or curve.

300KB sure shouldn't be a problem. And since it seems you can't install anything it would seem something else is going on.

Are you using the blackberry browser to download and install?

yes, looks like. tried all emulation modes, no difference. have all checkmarks checked, should work, but it's not working. is there any other installer for my pearl?

i have opera, but in my browser configuration it's not listed. don't know why

OTA installs require the blackberry browser.

Did you google that exact error message. It is clear to me that it means the app is too large.

i did google it, nothing. and today i found that OTA doesn't like files more than 128 kb. maybe my opera is installed wrong way and that's why it's not in the list of browsers? but can it install programs?

You cannot do OTA installs using opera mini or any other browser but the native BlackBerry browser.

I've never encountered a problem. Only other thing I can think of if you are using the blackberry browser and the emulation is set to BlackBerry is that the app is not written for BlackBerry, not compatible with your model and/or OS, or corrupt.

it's not corrupt, it's not for Blackberry special version, and is not compatible with my modle. BUT THE OLDER VERSION IS WORKING!!! So, maybe someone from this forum will compile it for Blackberry?
P.S. hope everyone understands that if the program is free, the compilation should be for free... and delivery. it should be completely free...

Did you dis-assemble the aggregate COD file? Sicne you app is larger than 128 L, this emans that your COD has multiple COD files "zipped up".

Rename your COD to the ZIP extension, then unzip the COD files. They will be named like myapp-1. myapp-2. etc.

You'll need to copy all of these files to your OTA server.
