Default Google Local is awesome on the 8700c

I love how you can search for any address and see a satellite Image of the location. Its fun to see your house etc. Its fun to go back and see old places you lived etc.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/107)

I agree. After I installed it I had only used it a few times to find directions and whatnot so I mentioned to someone how useful it was. The next day, she told me how much fun she was having with it and told me to type in "Eiffel Tower" and "Sphinx" into the search. When I zoomed into the satellite images of both results I was stunned to say the least. When you can see satellite images of the great pyramids on a 320 * 240 screen in the palm of your hand, you know the world is becoming a smaller place!

Guys, please help me out....

I have an 8700c with full data package from Cingular, but when I try to use google local it gives me an error message that the Network is Unavailable. I have no problem with email or other applications like yak-on. Is this bc the phone is locked? Other reasons? Please help. Thanks

hi,
I find the mechanism it uses to report the driving directions pretty painful. I need to keep pressing '1' and '3' to go forward and back. Does it have a 'list mode' of displaying all directions on one page ? It is easier to look while driving.

for some reason, whenever I go to "search", it doesn't let me type in anything to search for... anybody had this issue and know of a workaround?

About 5-7 minutes.
You really have to stare at the screen to see the change.
Go to an image of a sea shore somewhere, like Miami, and wait for it to refresh.
