Question BES user list blank after upgrade to 4.1.4

Please Login to Remove!

Running Domino upgraded from 4.0 to 4.1.4 all seemed to be good, ran for a few months all working mds, attachments, lookups, everything, then tried to add a new user for the first time yesterday. When you click on "add user" the list is blank no server at the top or in drop down and no users, all completely blank Any ideas?

Is the server in the same NNN as your mail servers?

Yes it is. Lookups work fine from the handhelds so the BES is accessing the address book.

Maybe this is a dump response, but what version of the Blackberry Manager are you using to add the new user? Mine shows 4.1.4.15 for example. I didn't get a feel from your response if you are running this from an Admin PC or off of the server console. I want to make sure you aren't using the 4.0.x tool.

I'm running 4.1.4.12 straight off the server we don't have any client machines running Blackberry manager.

Go to Tools > Options and make sure it is pointing to the right database.

Are there any issues opening the manager at all?

Maybe you should logon to another machine as the BESAdmin, install a remote BlackBerry Manager on it and see how that works instead.

Yes its pointing to the right database. All my users show up under the server and I can see all their stats as normal. Its only when I come to add a new user then the window is blank no servers or users show. Everything works as normal otherwise.

I did think that running blackberry manager from another machine would be worth a go but I have purchased the 4.1.4 upgrade (which came in the form of a download) and there is no option to install the manager on its own. I installed the 4.0 from the cd on a separate computer then tried to upgrade it with the 4.1.4 upgrade but it came up with loads of errors and was trying to install the complete server. I read on this forum that you need the full 4.1.4 version to install the manager alone and that RIM may give you a link to there ftp to get it. Not sure why they would unless they can confirm the purchase. I have emailed them anyway just to see. Anyone know another way to just load the manager from the upgrade files?

Default Fixed!!!

Well sort of, I had tried adding in the server name, hostname etc but nothing worked, I put the BES ip address in and hit go, up popped the address list and now I just activated the users. So its not working as it should but it does work woohoo!
